2My Toilet Won't Stop Running. What's the Problem?

There are a number of issues that could result in a running toilet. Some of the most common are:

  • Your float is damaged. The float is the mechanism that your toilet uses to determine when the tank is full. If it has become damaged or stuck, it will no longer be able to tell the water to stop.
  • Your tank stopper is damaged. The stopper in your toilet's water tank is a lot like the one in your bath or sink. If it is not centered, or if it is cracked, it will not be able to stop the water from slowly running into the toilet bowl. Water will keep flowing into the tank, but it will be impossible to fill.

A running toilet can seem like a minor problem because the water being used is out of sight. In reality, if you don't get your running toilet repair done quickly, it could be costing you hundreds of dollar per year in water bills. Ben Franklin Plumbing Charlotte can usually fix the problem in less than an hour. Call us today to schedule an appointment!

3How Much Does a Water Heater Installation Cost?

This is a difficult question to answer. There are many factors which contribute to the final cost of a water heater installation. A ball park figure would be around $700 to $2000 if the installation is standard. The type of water heater being installed, the type of water heater being removed, and the area of the house in which the water heater is installed will all have a bearing on the final price. Building and safety codes may have changed since your previous water heater was installed and these issues may need to be addressed.

At Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, we are committed to honesty and transparency. Our certified plumbers will run you through the options and advise you on the best course of action to take.

4How Do I Select the Best Tankless Water Heater for My Home?

A tankless water heater is a great option for many homeowners. They can provide an endless stream of hot water while reducing energy consumption. There are many models on the market and they all have different specifications and capabilities. When choosing the right model for your home, you should consider how much hot water the unit can produce (flow-per-minute), the heating method (gas or electric), and whether you would like a centrally located unit or one nearer your bathroom or kitchen.

5Should I Use Liquid Drain Cleaner for the Clog in My Sink?

The answer is; "It depends". Drain cleaners can work well for a lot of situations, but they are not a long-term solution. If you have a hair clog or a grease build up, drain cleaners can be a quick and cost effective method to get your pipes working again.

If you regularly experience blockages, it could be a sign of a deeper problem. Continued use of drain unblockers can cause damage to pipes (especially PVC Pipes). If you have a drain that just doesn't clear well, contact Benjamin Franklin Plumbing today!
